Each year The 1879 Group attend various events throughout the country.

Future events the 1879 Group are involved in are listed below:


"No Man's Land"

This is scheduled for Friday 5 April (Setting up only), Saturday 6 April and Sunday 7 April 2024 (Open to the public).

The event is tented encampment with many other groups in attendance. At the moment there is attendance confirmation from The Number 1 Depot Company Royal Artillery (ex Crownhill Fort), who are planning to bring a Field Gun with them. They may be joined by Nothe Fort Artillery.

The location is Bodrhyddan Hall in North Wales (LL18 5SB).



Raglan Castle Victorian Weekend

This is scheduled for Friday 5 July (Setting up only), Saturday 6 July and Sunday 7 July 2024 (Open to the public).

The event is taking place in the grounds of Raglan Castle, and has been organised by Welsh Heritage. It will be tented encampment, and we will be working with groups such as "The Ragged Victorians" and Queen Victoria will make an appearance.

Raglan Castle Multi-period Event

This is scheduled for Friday 23 August 2024 (Setting up only), Saturday 24 August, Sunday 25 August and Monday 26 August 2024 (Open to the public).

The event is taking place in the grounds of Raglan Castle, and has been organised by Worcester Re-enactors. It will be tented encampment, and we will carrying out rifle and bayonet drills.

Upton on Severn Multi-period Event

This is scheduled for Friday 13 September 2024 (Setting up only), Saturday 14 September and Sunday 15 September 2024 (Open to the public).

The event is taking place in town of Upton on Severn, and promises to be a large, well-attended event (Last year there were over 600 re-enactors taking part in a trial run, and many more are expcted this year. It has been organised by Worcester Re-enactors. It will be tented encampment, and we will carrying out rifle and bayonet drills, including the possibility of firing Martini-Henry rifles.

The location is the Worcestershire town of Upton on Severn - WR ___
